Te Kapua Terrace
Orakei Korako: Te Kapua Terrace
Te Kapua means 'the cloud'. This is a massive fault scarp covered in white and grey sinter. It's 5 metres high and 40 metres long and is the result of an earthquake in 131 AD and the silica-rich waters that have trickled over it since then.
