Kakariki Terrace
Orakei Korako: Kakariki Terrace
This is the largest silica terrace of its kind in New Zealand. Another 35 metres of it is hidden under Lake Ohakuri, which was formed when the Waikato River was dammed for a hydro-electric power project.
