Nettles: Stinging Nettles, Whirinaki Forest
Plants, shrubs & smaller: Nettles: Stinging Nettles, Whirinaki Forest
A small stinging nettle, Urtica incisa, or ongaonga. There are a couple of recorded human deaths from their stings, but they're mostly just painful - kind of like being burnt with a cold flame I reckon. They are particularly toxic to dogs and horses and it's not a bad idea to carry antihistamines in case of a bad reaction.
