Birds, forest: Kokako, Otorohanga
Also known as the blue-wattled crow or Callaes cinerea. Rare in the wild, these birds seem to prefer to run and hop along branches rather than fly and are solidly-built with strong legs. They have a beautiful, haunting call. About 38 cm long.
